CEO Student Ambassadors

The Career Exploration Officer (CEO) Student Ambassador Program is a leadership program that offers Jackson State University students an opportunity to represent and promote the Career Services Center (CSC) to prospective students, current students, alumni, corporate organizations, and the community. The CEO Ambassadors program allows students to get involved on campus by promoting major events sponsored by the center, and participating in day-to-day activities while serving as a liaison in the CSC. As a Student Ambassador, you will serve as the first point of contact with hundreds of individuals during the academic year.

 

Requirements:

  • Be in and maintain good academic standing with a current cumulative GPA of a 3.0 or above.,
  • Have completed at least one semester at Jackson State University.
  • Must have at least two semesters remaining, before graduation (excluding summer).
  • Flexible schedule to participate in CSC activities and major events throughout the year (including daytime, evening, and weekend events).
  • Must participate in all training sessions, monthly meetings, an d retreats throughout the year. Job Roles & Responsibilities:
      • Attend Career Service Center events. This includes, but is not limited to set-up and breakdown of collateral used during events, assist recruiters during scheduled events, and advertise events on JSU campuses.
      • Conduct classroom/organizational presentations.
      • Promote and advertise events sponsored by the Career Services Center via social media, flyers, and word-of-mouth to JSU students, faculty, and staff.
      • Flexible schedule to participate in CSC activities and major events throughout the year (including daytime, evening, and weekend events).
      • Attend monthly staff meetings in the Career Services Center.
      • Work weekly office hours in the Career Services Center throughout the semester. These hours will count as community service hours.
      • Maintain the Tiger Career Closet and assist with student appointments as needed.
      • Attend monthly staff meetings in the Career Services Center.
      • Provide assistance in the office and perform other duties as assigned.

     

    Application Process :

  • Applications will be accepted each Spring semester.
  • Students must complete the CEO application to be considered.
  • Students must submit a resume which should be electronically uploaded with application.
  • Students chosen to serve as CEO ambassadors for the academic year. Attributes needed include:
    • Positive attitude,
    • Have completed at least one semester at Jackson State University.,
    • Knowledge of Career Services Center and the programs/services offered.,
    • Be responsive to service requests, reliable, and punctual. Successful CEO Student Ambassador applicants must demonstrate the following:
      • Conscientiousness,
      • Proactivity,
      • Integrity,
      • Leadership
      • Professionalism.
